ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN APPLIED MICROECONOMICS SPECIALIZING IN ECONOMIC HISTORY and/or MIGRATION (Lille Campus)

In response to its continuous growth, IÉSEG School of Management is looking for a fulltime professor in Applied Microeconomics specializing in economic history and/or migration at the Assistant or Associate Professor level starting in September 2024. The selected candidate will be based at the IÉSEG campus in Lille and work in close collaboration with members of the IFLAME research center specializing in labor, migration, family economics and economic history.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The selected candidate will be part of the department of Economics and Quantitative Methods, which includes more than twenty permanent faculty members who teach and perform research in the areas of migration and labor economics, measurement of performance in production, health economics, risk theory, game theory, and family economics, among others. ABOUT THE POSITION

Research will be the main focus of the selected candidate as he/she/they will contribute to the vibrant research community at IESEG through their commitment to research excellence. He/she/they is therefore expected to hold a PhD or be very close to its completion, as well as have a publication record in top-tier refereed journals listed in the Academic Journals Guide (AJG) or a strong potential to conduct high-quality research.

With regards to teaching, the selected candidate will teach courses in economics at the undergraduate, graduate and/or postgraduate level. In addition, he/she/they will contribute to the development of the Department’s programs. As such, we are looking for candidates with strong teaching skills who are fluent in English, as most courses are taught in this language. Professional experience and knowledge of French are a plus, but not a requirement.
