PROFESSOR OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY
full time (40 hours per week)

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The main purpose of the position is to ensure the implementation of the strategic operational goals defined in the development plan of the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences in the field of ICT. This ought to be done through the development and support of research and study in the subject areas according to the needs and trends in society and quality expectations.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Research:
- finding project topics with significant social impact
- manning and managing the project team
- applying for funding from local and foreign private and public sources
- collaborating with local and international universities, enterprises and the public sector
- publishing in high-level academic publications, including journals and book collections
- presenting research results in academic circles and for practitioners’ audiences
Teaching:
- teaching the amount of 30 ECTS in Master’s and applied higher education studies – including the development of subjects and specialities
- implementation and development of innovative teaching methods
- thesis supervision and participation in defense committees
- guest lecturing at partnering educational institutions
- applying for and carrying out projects related to the subject of study
Serving society:
- collaborating and contributing to the development of the talents and enterprises at Ülemiste City future city, the location of the university, and for the Estonian state
- applying for projects and (co)organising events that benefit society
- introducing the research results, study subjects and activities of the university to society
- regularly expressing opinion publicly in the respective field of expertise and the wider field of private applied higher education at various events and in media
- collaborating with other universities and companies
- involving alumni in both study and research activities, and in serving society
CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT: 5 YEARS FIXED-TERM
EXPECTATIONS FOR THE CANDIDATE
- Doctorate in one of the fields mentioned above or any closely related field
- substantial research experience (including business-oriented)
- experience in bidding for the public sector and companies
- teaching and supervising experience at all academic levels
- ability to publish in high-level peer-reviewed publications
- knowledge, skills, and experience in conducting both qualitative and quantitative research
- very good command of written and spoken English
- interest in developing activities related to the university’s activities in studying, research and serving society, and contributing to the social life in the university
- ability to work independently and perform well under stress
- ability and experience in working with business leaders
- ability to connect theoretical knowledge with real life needs
