Associate professorship(s) in Organisation and management at The Department of Business Development and Technology
The Department of Business Development and Technology (BTECH) at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University, invites applications for associate professorship positions in organisation and management.
An associate professorship is a full-time permanent position. Associate professors divide their time evenly between research and teaching activities, and the successful candidates will become part of the AIROD research section. The starting date is 1 February 2025 or as agreed upon.
Job description
We are looking for candidates who can strengthen our research profile. A significant part of our work involves business partners, and we often perform applied research. Hence, it is important that the candidates conduct research on topics that are relevant to modern companies, and candidates with research activities involving industry will be preferred.
Research topics relevant to the position can be (but not limited to):
Candidates are expected to teach and supervise students at all levels including PhD students. Our study programme portfolio contains a MSc program and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration as well as industry-oriented training. Hence, candidates should be able to teach courses in one or more of the following domains: Organisational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, and Leadership.
Your qualifications
Employment as associate professor requires a PhD degree and a strong academic background as assistant professor or equivalent. Furthermore, we prefer applicants with the following qualifications:
Applicants are encouraged to describe how their research is important for industry. The description could include concrete collaborations, impact, dissemination activities, etc.
Non-Danish speakers are required to acquire a reasonable knowledge of the Danish language within three years. The department will grant time off from teaching to attend Danish courses during the first two years of employment.
Permanent employment as associate professor at Aarhus BSS requires completion of the supervision course and also the course Online and blended learning provided by Centre for Educational Development at Aarhus University. If you have not completed the courses before commencement of employment, continued employment will be conditional on completion of the courses within a two-year period.
Who we are
BTECH is part of Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University – a top 100 university. BTECH is located in the business-oriented and entrepreneurial city of Herning. The department excels in business, IT and engineering disciplines and emphasises the importance of company collaborations. We have around 1,200 students and close to 100 faculty and staff. Each year, approximately 500 students are involved in company projects in more than 250 companies ranging from SMEs to leading multinationals. Our incubator Business Factory launches 10 new companies each year.
We influence society through business development and technology. For this reason, many research projects are conducted in close collaboration with industry on the basis of new data and new technologies. These projects are generously supported by the ERC, Horizon Europe, the Independent Research Fund Denmark and the Danish Industry Foundation, among others.
