Postdoctoral fellowship in Entrepreneurship

The Entrepreneurship foundation in Lund announces a two-year postdoctoral stipend-financed fellowship within entrepreneurship at the Department of Business Administration, Lund University School of Economics and Management.

We seek a highly motivated researcher with a deep interest and specialization in studying entrepreneurship using econometric and statistical methods. The candidate should be familiar with Statistics Sweden’s statistical databases for research purposes.

The postdoctoral candidate will work and contribute within the research project “Career dynamics in entrepreneurial ownership among university graduates, coordinated by Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship, Department of Business Administration, Lund University.

The research project will focus on the subject area of entrepreneurship. The aim of the project is to contribute to the development of theoretical and empirical knowledge about career trajectories in entrepreneurial ownership among university graduates, and to advance understanding of how entrepreneurial ownership unfolds over the career course.

The Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship (SKJCE) is an active, internationally recognised arena for high-impact entrepreneurship education and research. SKJCE conducts research in areas such as entrepreneurial learning and education, academic entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial finance, social entrepreneurship, and immigrant entrepreneurship.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATIONS

This is a career development position primarily focused on research, intended as an initial step towards a future professorship. The assessment of the applicants will primarily be based on their research qualifications and potential as researchers.

Requirements for the position:

  • A completed doctoral degree within the subject of the position or a related topic, completed no more than three years before the last date for applications.
  • Documented ability to develop and conduct high-quality research.
  • Documented experience of conducting research using econometric and statistical methods.
  • Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Familiarity with Statistics Sweden’s statistical databases.

Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, enthusiasm for research, ability to conduct research independently, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the Sten K. Johnson Centre or Entrepreneurship, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.

TERMS OF THE POST-DOC SCHOLARSHIP

The post-doc is a full-time, tax-free, scholarship for two years. The stipend includes SEK 370.000 per year, and covers the cost of living (SEK 350.000, and insurance (SEK 20.000). The stipend-holder will be placed at Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship, Department of Business Administration, Lund University.

The Department of Business Administration may offer the possibility to teach and supervise. In such case, the postdoc would be employed on a fixed-term appointment and would be compensated accordingly for those specific teaching and supervision duties.

Due to restrictions in Swedish tax law, if you have previously been employed at Lund University, you will not be eligible for this position.
