The Business School at Pforzheim University seeks to appoint a full-time Professorship (W2) in Economics, beginning in the summer semester 2027 or at a later date, within the framework of a permanent employment contract. We invite you to apply by July 9, 2026.

Your role and impact

• You will teach introductory and advanced economics courses in our Bachelor’s programmes in Business Administration and Business Law as well as in our Master’s programmes. Moreover, you will be responsible for courses on issues of social, economic, and ecological sustainability. Courses are to be taught in English and, where possible, also in German.
• You will be actively participating in research and regularly publishing in internationally recognised scientific journals.
• You will be actively participating in the self-administration of the Economics Department and the University.

What we are looking for

• You have proven your scientific qualification by a university degree in economics and a PhD / doctorate degree in economics or a related area.
• You have extensive expertise in the fields of economics and, ideally, sustainability, which you have proven both through relevant professional activities and academic publications in renowned international journals.
• You are an enthusiastic teacher possessing excellent didactic skills with relevant teaching experience.
• You are fluent in written and spoken English.
  A good command of German is helpful, but not necessary.
• Ideally, you gained professional and/or research experience also in an international context.

The formal requirements for applicants are a university degree and a Ph.D. or a comparable scientific qualification.
A minimum of five years of postgraduate experience is required, of which a minimum of three years must have been gained outside the university.
