Postdoctoral fellowship in Business Administration with specialization in Aesthetics and Business/Organizational Creativity
In collaboration with the Tore Browaldh Foundation, the Department of Business Administration, Lund University School of Economics and Management, announces a three-year postdoctoral stipend-financed fellowship within Aesthetics and Business/Organizational Creativity studies.
The position is research-wise thematically located in the interdisciplinary field where organization, creativity and entrepreneurship research meet, with the aim to conduct research on organizational creativity, visionary entrepreneurship, and innovative organization, and to do so in ‘dialogue’ with the humanities, especially aesthetics, art, and philosophy. The applicant will be affiliated with the Centre for Aesthetics and Business Creativity (ABC). The ABC centre is a novel initiative that explores the relationships between aesthetics and the organizational creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship fields in business administration. Empirically, the focus is placed on studies of practices where these research anchorings resonate: craft, cultural and creative industries, and interdisciplinary innovation processes where human-technology interactions are central.
The ABC centre is located at the Department of Business Administration which brings together scholars from a range of research areas, reflecting the multidisciplinarity of business administration and the diversity of research traditions characterizing the academic field. The department has been under continuous development for more than fifty years and, today, is one of Sweden’s largest. The centre research is related primarily to the organization and entrepreneurship research groups at the Department, but our researchers, teachers and students also develop knowledge in business finance, financial and management accounting, management, marketing, research policy, and strategic management. You can read more about the Department and our research on our website.
Tasks
This is a three-year career development stipend-financed research fellowship for recent doctoral graduates to gain further research training and experience. The stipend is strictly dedicated to supporting research training and career development as an early-career scholar, without any teaching obligations or compensation included in the stipend amount.
We seek a candidate who wants to explore, empirically and theoretically, research thematically located in the interdisciplinary field where organization, creativity and entrepreneurship research meet, with an interest in organizational creativity, visionary entrepreneurship, and innovative organization.
We seek a candidate that wants to conduct research in ‘dialogue’ with the humanities, especially aesthetics, art, literature, and philosophy.
The recruited postdoc will work with the ABC-team and affiliated and collaborating researchers in the local and global networks and contribute to advancing the centre’s research agenda more generally, and specifically how economy and aesthetics ‘converse’ in CCI companies and other organizations.
The expectations on the recruited postdoc are to conduct research of high quality relevant to the research area outlined above, to publish in internationally leading journals, to participate in applying for research funding, and to communicate research findings outside of academia. The postdoc is expected to contribute to strengthening the research and outreach activities of the ABC centre.

The assessment is primarily based on your ability to develop and conduct research of good quality. The assessment will focus on your scientific merit and ability in the field. We also consider the relevance and feasibility of your research plan, as well as your experience, knowledge, and personal qualifications. We further consider how your experience and skills can strengthen and complement the research at ABC, and how it strengthens and complements existing research at the Department of Business Administration.
Conditions for the stipend
The stipend amount is tax-free and follows guidelines set by the Tore Browaldh Foundation. It is strictly intended to support research and career development and does not support any teaching duties. The Department of Business Administration may offer the possibility to teach and supervise. In such case, the postdoc fellow would be employed on a fixed-term appointment and would be compensated accordingly for those specific teaching and supervision duties.
Due to restrictions in Swedish tax law, if you have previously been employed at Lund University, you will not be eligible for this position.
