The Business School at Pforzheim University seeks to appoint a full-time Professorship (m/f/d) (W2) in Business information systems, beginning in the winter semester 2026/2027, within the framework of a permanent employment contract. We invite you to apply by January 8, 2026.
Your role and impact
- You are proficient in scientific, relevant methods and concepts of business information systems in relevant areas and excel in practice-oriented teaching and research.
- Your academic track record and relevant professional activities and expertise have a clear focus on at least one of the following subject areas, namely ERP Systems (SAP S/4 HANA), Process Mining, Business Analytics, Generative AI.
- You are well-versed in innovative didactical concepts and approaches and will actively contribute to the continuous development of our curricula and study program content.
- You are motivated and committed to teaching the fundamental principles of business information systems at the bachelor’s level.
- You have a track record in practice-oriented research projects and publishing high quality papers in the field of business information systems.
- You contribute to the advancement of our Business School as study program director by further developing our study programs and actively participating in self-governance and organizational tasks.
What we are looking for
- You have completed a university degree, ideally in business information systems, computer science or in a comparable discipline.
- You have gathered relevant professional competence and profound experience in the field of business information systems, and specifically in the relevant subject areas.
- You have experience in academic teaching.
- You show a high level of motivation and commitment to teaching and applied research.
- You provide evidence of recent publications and ideally research activities in the relevant subject areas.
- You have gathered experience in acquiring research projects and have knowledge of public research funding programs.
- You exhibit strong teamwork skills and a distinct collaborative mindset.
- You possess an excellent command of English and demonstrate a readiness to teach courses in both German and English.
The formal requirements for applicants are a university degree and a Ph.D. or a comparable scientific qualification.
A minimum of five years of postgraduate work/research experience is required, of which a minimum of three years must have been gained outside the university. Further details (cf. § 47 Landeshochschulgesetz Baden-Württemberg) can be found online on the university's homepage.
