Call for applications: Opening in Sustainability Management at ESCP Business School

Assistant Professor position in Sustainability Management,
Turin Campus

The Sustainability Department of ESCP Business School invites applications for one position at the Assistant Professor level (tenure-track) based on our Turin campus and to be filled by September 2026.

We are looking for candidates with a PhD and a track record of publications and/or promising academic submissions in top-quality international journals in the Sustainability Management field, who will actively contribute to research and teaching in this area. Candidates should demonstrate excellent teaching capabilities and a strong collaborative mind-set.

Candidates must have a sound foundation in sustainability and should be able to teach courses covering both, major sustainability challenges (for example, climate change, biodiversity, environmental and social impacts etc.), and sustainability management in organizations (for example, governance, sustainable business models, supply chain, impact reporting etc.). Teaching should address various audiences, from undergraduates to executives. Candidates with research and teaching profiles focused on quantitative methods will be given preference.

The Sustainability Department is composed of a multi-disciplinary team of 19 full-time faculty and 7 affiliate professors with strong expertise in sustainability, integrating various sub-fields: organization theory, supply chain management, business model design, responsible and sustainable consumption, among others. We have varied research interests and methodological approaches but we are all striving for an uncompromising ambition to change business research, curricula and practice. We protect principles of diversity, inclusion, and academic freedom.

Our faculty are publishing in leading academic journals such as the Academy of Management Annals, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Studies, Journal of Business Ethics, Research Policy, among others.

The Turin Campus offers a highly supportive and energetic environment for dedicated scholars looking to further develop their academic career while contributing to our continued success and to our School’s pedagogical mission and strong values. ESCP Business School, and especially the Turin Campus, is experiencing a significant growth.

Applications should include:

  1. A cover letter.
  2. Your curriculum vitae, a job market paper, and a list of working papers and publications.
  3. Your “sustainability statement as a scholar” sharing your vision and your personal way of embodying the role of professor in sustainability management.
  4. Teaching evaluations from the past two years (if applicable).
  5. Two references (providing contact details will be enough at the initial application stage).

You can submit your application, as one PDF file, to the Sustainability Department until December 15th 2025: SustDepartment@escp.eu. For further information, please contact: Julien Schmitt, Coordinator of the Sustainability Department (jschmitt@escp.eu).
