PROFESSOR OF LOGISTICS (tenured or tenure track)
TalTech Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering invites applications to fill in a tenured professor position in the field of Logistics. The professor will join the hardworking team of the existing Research Centre of Logistics and Transportation of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and will be able to contribute to the creation of the Bachelor's degree program in Logistics and Mobility, the development of the existing Master's degree program in Logistics and the doctoral program in Engineering Sciences, the major in Logistics.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The goal of the position is to conduct research and development activities in the field of logistics as a whole, organize it and apply for the necessary financing. The sub-goals are to supervise doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows and conduct studies and further training in cooperation with companies, professional associations and research institutions; to increase the share of research and development activities and business contracts in the field of logistics and mobility; to increase the development and succession of the field by ensuring training in the logistics specialty in accordance with the requirements of the professional standard at bachelor's (logistics manager - level 6; procurement manager - level 6; mobility engineer - level 6) and master's levels (supply chain manager - level 7; mobility engineer - level 7) and ensuring the training of future and current specialists/managers in the field in accordance with the needs of the labor market.

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering is one of the largest departments at Tallinn University of Technology. We are responsible for two bachelor's degree programmes: Integrated Technologies and Product Development and Robotics; five master's degree programmes: Logistics, Future of Design and Technology, Vocational Teacher, Product Development and Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management; and one doctoral degree programme in Engineering Sciences with the main specialization Production and Materials Engineering, Robotics, Transport and Logistics. An additional bachelor's degree programme Logistics and Mobility is being created, the admission of which should start on 01.09.2026.
The department consists of four research centres: the Research Centre of Logistics and Transportation, the Materials Engineering Research Centre, the Research Center of Smart Industry and Robotics, the Estonian Center of Engineering Pedagogy and, in addition, the Laboratory of Mechanical Testing and Metrology. The department is a promoter of the digitalisation of Estonian industry and a developer of competitiveness through good cooperation with universities/research institutions as well as companies, professional associations, technology development centres (IMECC, ELIKO) and the Innovation Centre.
