As part of its growth strategy, the Department Accounting and Management Control at ESSEC Business School invites applications for a senior faculty position in financial accounting at the Associate or Full Professor level. The position is based at the ESSEC Singapore campus and has a starting date of September 1st, 2026, or upon agreement.

The Department places a strong emphasis on high-quality, high-impact research and excellence in teaching. Its faculty members publish in top tier accounting, finance and managements journals (e.g., Journal of Accounting and Economics; Journal of Accounting Research; The Accounting Review; Accounting, Organizations and Society; Review of Financial Studies; Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis; Management Science; Organizations Science; Review of Accounting Studies; Strategic Management Journal) and PhD students are placed at top research institutions in Europe, North America, and Australia. Recent recruits joined from Columbia University, HEC Paris, Temple University, University of Utah, and Washington University in St Louis.

Your Profile

• All candidates should have a strong and recognized publication record in top-tier accounting journals and are expected to continue to publish in these journals.
• Candidates are expected to play a leadership role in research and teaching development and contribute to the institutional development of the Singapore campus.
• All areas of research in financial accounting are welcome.
• In addition to research and teaching excellence, a successful record in supervising and placing PhD students and a history of conducting research with junior faculty are highly desirable. Similarly, experiences in institutional development are highly desirable.
• Candidates must be able to teach in English.
• The position will be filled at the appropriate rank depending on the profile and experience of the candidate.
