Managing Director

The appointment will initially be for a period of five years, with a planned start date in the winter semester 2025/2026.

The successful candidate will be appointed to a professorial position at Saarland University in the Department of Computer Science or the Department of Business Science and Economics.

The joint appointment to the position of university professor includes a teaching obligation of at least two hours per week during the main teaching periods at Saarland University. The appointee is also entitled to use the title ‘Professor’ for the duration of their employment at the Scheer School of Digital Sciences at Saarland University.

The person appointed should have extensive knowledge in the field of computer science, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence and its applications. We expect candidates to have several years of professional experience in the academic and/or business sectors, including managerial and/or leadership positions. Additional experience in the areas of digital transformation, innovative teaching formats and entrepreneurial competence that align with the activities and mission of the Scheer School of Digital Sciences at Saarland University would be welcome.

The appointment will be made in accordance with the general provisions of German public sector employment law (see legal recruitment requirements in § 41 Saarländisches Hochschulgesetz, current version available at https://recht.saarland.de/bssl/document/jlr-HSchulGSLrahmen).
