Kuwait College of Science and Technology is fully licensed by the nation’s Ministry of Higher Education/Private Universities Council and started its operation in 2016 offering degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Electronics and Communications Engineering. In 2022, the student population exceeded 1800, and the first cohort of engineers has graduated. The University has an outstandingly high research output in the context of the private universities in the Region.

One of the cornerstones of the University’s strategy is “Engineering with Leadership”, which means that the University aims to produce engineering graduates who are aware and conversant with management theory and techniques. Thus, its current engineering curricula already contains significant portions of economics, management, and entrepreneurship. In the near future, a new Faculty of Business Management will be launched.

The Department of Business management is recruiting ambitious academics with a proven track record in teaching .

Assistant or Associate Professor - Management, Entrepreneurship and Introductory Economics

 Candidates are required to teach and provide guidance to students in a specialized field of study. They are responsible for preparing and presenting lectures, creating, and supervising examinations, and marking examination papers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide Academic leadership in program/course development and creation of new research areas in the university. 
  • Support the University in creating clear accreditation profiles for all programs. 
  • Represent and promote KCST appropriately on and off campus. 
  • Implement and promote KCST values, vision, mission and objectives and support efforts to build the reputation of the University.
  • Participate in curriculum and course review and renewal and suggest improvement.
  • To teach, conduct research, carry out academic administration as assigned, generate resources through sponsored research projects, and be active in professional activities like consulting and advising governmental agencies and industry. 
  • Lead the instruction process in the assigned course(s) and develop and implement innovative instructional methods. 
  • Required to publish scholarly articles, attend academic-related seminars and training as well as get certifications and related experience outside the university. 
  • Be sensitive to the needs of the students so that they are able to convey their lessons effectively. 
  • Execute the role of academic advisor to students. 
  • Supervise student projects and guide, lead and mentor students in research projects 
  • Evaluate, monitor and mentor student academic progress. 
  • Participate in departmental and University activities. 
  • Supervise and support teaching assistants. 
  • Serve and support functional activities of departmental committees. 
  • Perform supervisory and administrative work related to the department. 
  • Be responsible and flexible in taking daily loads and working under time pressure.

All duties and responsibilities shall be carried out under the direction of your Head of Department and are subject to evaluation by your Dean /President.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE:

  • Min. PhD in Management and/or Economics from a reputed and internationally accredited University listed in https://nbaq.edu.kw/search/index-en.html
  • Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in the same field.
  • The rank of Assistant or Associate Professor from a reputable university
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
  • A reasonable record of research publication.
  • A track record in graduate and/or postgraduate teaching, including a combination of Management and Economics courses (for one of the positions)
  • Computer Literacy
  • Having high attention to students and their needs
  • Creativity and Self-Motivation
  • Professional attitude towards work and colleagues.
  • Experience in the supervision of students’ projects.
  • Experience in teaching in the Middle East and GCC preferably and acute awareness of cross-cultural differences in the worlds of teaching and learning.
