About the RMIT Vice-Chancellor's Research Fellowships Program

The RMIT Vice-Chancellor’s Research Fellowships program enables some of the world’s best research talent to flourish and make a difference in areas that matter for our future. If you are ambitious and enjoy working in team environments to achieve impact from your excellent research, we invite you to apply to become an RMIT Vice Chancellor’s Research Fellow.  Applications are now open at Academic levels A-D in three focused areas of priority as follows:

  • Regenerative Futures
  • MedTech Innovation, and
  • Digital Innovation.

Prestigious RMIT Vice-Chancellor's Research Fellowships are available in one of five categories covering academic levels A to D with generous research support funding annually (refer to Fellowships categories for eligibility and details), as well as:

  • Access to RMIT’s research facilities and interdisciplinary networks;
  • Mentoring;
  • Access to researcher development programs to discover new pathways to impact; and  
  • Supported and flexible workplace – RMIT is a recognised employer of choice.

About You

You will have prior experience in conducting and leading research, as well as experience in attracting research funding, including competitive grants from both national and international sources. You will be recognised for producing high quality outputs and have evidence of collaboration across industry and/or research organisations.

Eligibility

RMIT’s Vice-Chancellor’s Research Fellowships are open to local and international researchers who are outstanding in their field and who meet the eligibility and selection criteria.  

Applicants must:

  • Hold a PhD/Doctorate qualification;
  • Complete the application form by the 2024 deadline;
  • Additional eligibility criteria may apply. Please refer to the specific eligibility criteria under each of the Fellowship categories.

Please Note: Fellowships are not available to current RMIT employees, who are already in ongoing academic roles.
