The Department of Law of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg is looking for a PhD candidate to conduct research in the field of patent law. The position is part of a research project funded by the Fonds National de la Recherche Luxembourg (FNR) investigating the intersection of the patent system and green technologies.
Your Role...
The doctoral researcher will be working under the supervision of Professor Martin Stierle. The doctoral researcher’s main task will be to prepare a doctoral thesis at the intersection of patent law and sustainability. He/she will contribute to the overall research project. A position as doctoral researcher at the University of Luxembourg is also required to engage into a limited amount of teaching activities (e.g., small group teachings of students or tutorials).
The doctoral researcher will benefit from being part of a research group comprising several researchers working in the field of intellectual property (IP) at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance. Luxembourg is a vibrant European IP hub with its strong research profile in European IP law and the European Courts (e.g., the Court of Justice of the European Union, the European General Court, the Court of Appeal of the Unified Patent Court). Being part of the project will allow the doctoral researcher to enhance his/her research experience and strengthen his/her academic profile in IP law.
