
Two full-time teaching-researcher positions in Business and Management Sciences - Academic Department of Management Sciences (DACG)
The DACG summons outstanding academics with experience in undergraduate teaching and research in Business and Management Sciences, who have a track record of scientific publications and participation in prestigious academic events. It seeks to incorporate into the faculty professionals willing to participate actively in the academic life of the Department and to get involved with the multidisciplinary community of professors, who have the ability to collaborate and build relationships with students, colleagues, external peers, and public and private organizations, that show flexibility, communication skills, orientation towards quality results, the search for continuous improvement and the achievement of excellence. Lastly, they are expected to be available to join full-time (40 hours per week) and to work in person at the PUCP.
ELIGIBILITY
- Degree of Doctor or Ph.D. (focused on Administration, Management or related fields). In case that the diploma was issued abroad, it should have the revalidation or recognition of the academic degree, according to the Peruvian university law. Our institution would assist the selected candidate with this procedure.
- Preferably, be 40 years old or less.
- Research in the field of management and have publications indexed in Scopus or Web of Science.
- Participation as a speaker in refereed or indexed academic events in the last three (3) years.
- Proven experience in higher education teaching, preferably providing favorable evaluation results.
- Have advised undergraduate or postgraduate theses.
- Desirable, professional experience in the field of management.
- Oral and written communication proficiency in Spanish and English, having the possibility of teaching classes in both languages.
- High sense of ethics and good practices, both in scientific research and in academic publication processes.
- Willingness to work in a team, to multidisciplinary work and adaptation to new work environments.
- Present the work plan that will be developed during the contract period.
COMMITMENTS
Research commitments
- Top academic production indexed in Scopus or Web of Science or other productions approved by the PUCP's Vice-president for Research. The chosen candidate agrees to comply with one of the following three options:
- Option 1: six original articles indexed in Scopus or Web of Science in Q1 or Q2 journals.
- Option 2: a refereed book in an international publisher and three original articles indexed in Scopus or Web of Science (at least one in Q1 or Q2 journals. The other two may be published in Q3 journals).
- Option 3: three original book chapters in an international peer-reviewed publisher and three articles indexed in Scopus or Web of Science, where at least 1 is in Q1 or Q2. The other two may be published in Q3 journals.
- Dissemination of his/her research work in at least one academic congress, face-to-face or online, refereed by an international scientific committee per year.
- Formulation and application to external research funds.
- Active participation in the assignments from the Editorial Committee of the DACG.
- Support in the organization of academic events of the DACG.
Presentations of the progress and results of his/her research to DACG faculty members.
Teaching commitments
- Ten (10) hours of teaching per week every year: Teachers of the Department of Management Science under the Tenure Track modality must complete a 10-hour workload per week in a year. At least 6 hours must correspond to regular courses in undergraduate programs in the School of Administration and Executive Management.
- Thesis advising: Tenure track professors must be advisers of at least 2 undergraduate theses per year in the School of Administration and Executive Management.
- Maintaining a high performance according to the Faculty Opinion Survey [above the PUCP average] Faculty members are committed to obtaining the highest scores according to the classification established by the University.
Improvement of higher education teaching: If so determined by the evaluation committee or the Head of the Academic Department, or by their own initiative, the selected candidates may indicate what will be their further training in higher education teaching. They can participate in programs proposed by the university or other institutions.
PUCP affiliation: The selected candidate agrees to specify the affiliation with the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and with the Academic Department of Management Sciences, in all publications and presentations conducted in academic events.
Exclusivity: The selected candidate agrees that, during the assignment term, he/she will only have teaching hours at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. This means that teaching or researching in other university institutions (or equivalent) will not be allowed, unless as a visiting professor or visiting researcher.
EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS
- Annual bonuses for scientific publications, which are consolidated and paid the year following the publication, according to the calendar established by the PUCP. These bonuses apply when publications have exceeded the number specified in the research commitments.
- Annual bonuses for good performance as teacher, which are paid the year following the evaluation, according to the evaluation of the work plan and the calendar established by the PUCP.
- Financial support to present papers at international conferences, taking into account the current considerations in the document "Criteria for the Use of Support Funds for Teacher Participation in Academic Events on behalf of the DACG"
- Possibility of obtaining financing for research projects through the Annual Project Contest (CAP) or the Research Support Fund (FAI).
- Possibility of obtaining financing for their innovation projects in University teaching through the Competitive Fund organized by the Academic Directorate of Faculty.
- Discounts on undergraduate and postgraduate academic courses and programs at PUCP for teachers and their dependents.
- Holidays of 60 days per year.

- Psychological evaluation: September 1 to 22.
- Publication of the selected candidates: September 29, 2023.
