Postdoctoral fellowship in Business Administration with specialization in Aesthetics and Business/Organizational Creativity

In collaboration with The Jan and Åsa Söderberg Foundation and The Hamrin Foundation, the Department of Business Administration, Lund University School of Economics and Management, announces a two-year postdoctoral stipend-financed fellowship within Aesthetics and Business/Organizational Creativity studies.

The position is research-wise thematically located in the interdisciplinary field where organization, creativity and entrepreneurship research meet, with the aim to conduct research on organizational creativity, visionary entrepreneurship, and innovative organization, and to do so in ‘dialogue’ with the humanities, especially aesthetics, art, and philosophy. The applicant’s work will contribute to the establishment of the ‘Centre for Aesthetics and Business Creativity’ – ABC – and the applicant will be affiliated with the ABC centre.

Tasks

This is a fixed-term career development stipend-financed research fellowship for recent doctoral graduates to gain further research training and experience. The stipend is strictly dedicated to supporting research training and career development as an early-career scientist, without any teaching obligations or compensation included in the stipend amount.

The ABC centre and research environment offers e.g. access to a larger multidisciplinary research project – LUDICH, Lund University Digital Interactive Concert Hall – within the area of digitalization of the concert hall experience in collaboration with several external parties (you can read more about this here). The centre is located at the Department of Business Administration which brings together scholars from a range of research areas within business administration, reflecting the multidisciplinarity of business administration and the diversity of research traditions characterizing the academic field. The department has been under continuous development for more than fifty years and, today, is one of Sweden’s largest. Our researchers, teachers and students develop knowledge in business finance, entrepreneurship, financial and management accounting, management, marketing, organizational behavior, research policy, and strategic management. You can read more about the Department and our research on our website.

We seek a candidate who wants to explore, empirically and theoretically, research thematically located in the interdisciplinary field where organization, creativity and entrepreneurship research meet, with an interest in organizational creativity, visionary entrepreneurship, and innovative organization. We seek a candidate that wants to conduct research in the LUDICH project, and do so from the interdisciplinary field described, in ‘dialogue’ with the humanities, especially aesthetics, art, and philosophy.

The expectations of the recruited postdoc are to conduct research of high quality relevant to the research area outlined, publish in internationally leading journals, communicate research findings outside of academia, collaborate with members of the group, and engage in the further development of the research area and the broader field of aesthetics and business/organizational creativity at the department.

The Centre for Aesthetics and Business Creativity (ABC) is a novel initiative that explores the relationships between aesthetics and the creativity-, innovation-, and entrepreneurship fields in business administration. The centre is founded and led by Prof. Daniel Hjorth, and the candidate will work together with Hjorth in the LUDICH project as well as with build-up of the ABC centre. The centre research will be related primarily to the organization and entrepreneurship research groups at the Department.

We further consider how your experience and skills can strengthen and complement the research at ABC, and how it strengthens and complements existing research at the Department of Business Administration.

Conditions for the stipend

The stipend amount is tax-free and follows guidelines set by The Jan and Åsa Söderberg Foundation and The Hamrin Foundation. It is strictly intended to support research and career development and does not support any teaching duties. The Department of Business Administration may offer the possibility to teach and supervise.
